Each night, as I rock my baby to sleep, I swear I could hold him forever. Long after he's fallen asleep, I continue to hold him in my arms, listening to his sweet, baby breath. I am completely in awe by this overwhelming love I have for him.
Some may say that you shouldn't hold a baby too much, awake or sleeping...that it can cause bad habits or spoil them. I couldn't disagree more. He will have the rest of his life to be 'independent', but there is only a very short time where he will be small enough for me to hold in my arms. And I will take that chance every moment I can.
